Is your favorite food an enemy of your health and your skin?
Consumable food items like cake, bread, sugar, cereal, full fat ice cream are classified as high glycemic ones. This effectively means that they contain a high degree of carbohydrates that easily digestible on consumption. Food with a high glycemic score can induce skin problems like acne. And food with low glycemic scores is found to be good for the young body. Example: whole food grains, fruits and vegetables. Eating in more of vegetable has always been considered good for a healthy body. Ironically French fries and potato chips are made out of potato but then that’s not what you call a healthy meal.
Alcohol also does no good to your skin. It forces the body into dehydration. The more fluid you lose the more your skin goes dry resulting in wrinkles and early aging.
Everyone is unique and a diet that affects one might not be affecting the other in a similar fashion. If you are experiencing any skin or health problems, consulting your doctor for a change in your diet is a good idea.
