The first one works as an antioxidant for fighting any aging signs, a diuretic which makes the skin appear smoother and become a vasoconstrictor to help in the reduction of puffiness and the dark circles that are caused by vasodilatation. Many people have questioned whether ingesting caffeine is beneficial to the skin.

The truth is that there seems to be a benefit and a detriment to consumption of caffeine. Oral consumption of caffeinated green or black tea or caffeine alone is beneficial. The effect of excessive consumption of caffeine is the sunscreen effect and it enhances UVB-induced apoptosis. Caffeine can also be used to treat cellulite as it is a typical ingredient in cellulite and lotions. It is thus advisable to take the right amount of caffeine that will be helpful to the skin.

The debate surrounding the propaganda around Goji juice has overshadowed the benefits that the fruit brings with it. Also known as Lycium Barbarum, it’s a fruit found in the Himalayas, the nutritional benefits of which has been know to the Nepalese kingdom and to some extent the Chinese for centuries.

Some of the claimed health benefits:

Goji juice is a powerful antioxidant that counters ageing process.

Spruces up the immune system to help fight diseases more effectively

Aids in regulating blood sugar levels during early stages of diabetes

Improves the digestive system and memory functions

This fascinating list of health benefits is a result of its composition – the Goji berry. But a lot of debate has been happening over the false claims made by some of the vested interests. The claims and counter claims have been focused at the processes and some of the health benefits.

Keeping this debate apart, there is no doubt that the Himalayan Goji Juice has caught the imagination of the health enthusiastic around the world. But the risks associated must not be ignored. The Goji juice is yet to get the approval of the scientific and medical community as a whole. And it would be better to play it safe than playing it hard and risky.

Consumable food items like cake, bread, sugar, cereal, full fat ice cream are classified as high glycemic ones. This effectively means that they contain a high degree of carbohydrates that easily digestible on consumption. Food with a high glycemic score can induce skin problems like acne. And food with low glycemic scores is found to be good for the young body. Example: whole food grains, fruits and vegetables. Eating in more of vegetable has always been considered good for a healthy body. Ironically French fries and potato chips are made out of potato but then that’s not what you call a healthy meal.
Alcohol also does no good to your skin. It forces the body into dehydration. The more fluid you lose the more your skin goes dry resulting in wrinkles and early aging.

Everyone is unique and a diet that affects one might not be affecting the other in a similar fashion. If you are experiencing any skin or health problems, consulting your doctor for a change in your diet is a good idea.
